ÀBORÚ, ABOYE, ÀBOSÍSE:
The Consejo Cultural Yorùbá de Canada’s mission, since its origin in 2011 as a working-group here in Toronto, Ontario Canada, and now as of February 15th, 2018, as a registered business in the Province of Ontario, Canada has been to promote awareness regarding the Ifá- Òrìṣà belief-system through a spiritual anthropological approach to research, education, publishing and community support and services.
We have worked with partners like Ifaworld Conference, Harriet Tubman Institute at York University and ThatChannel to provide an open learning environment through which to receive information on Ifá- Òrìṣà’s history and practice. Ifá-Òrìṣà is one of the oldest traditions in the world pre-dating Christianity, Judaism, and Islam and is recognized as the 6th largest religion/religious belief in the world and one of the fastest growing. This indigenous belief system remains ever relevant in the modern world making it more than just a religious tradition, but a way of life.
The Ifá divination system was inscribed by UNESCO in 2008 as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, originally proclaimed in 2005 (https://ich.unesco.org/en/RL/ifa-divination-system-00146).

A NEW STYLE OF RELIGIOUS LEARNING FOR BEST PRACTICES NON-PROFIT INITIATIVE:
The Ifá-Òrìṣà Religious Council of Canada is a non-profit, religious and humanitarian organization made up of experienced chiefs under the mentorship of Kábíyèsí Ọba Ifágbèmí Fásẹ̀yẹ Babátúndé, ỌbaníléIfá of Ilobu land. They are experienced and well-respected Babalawos working together and oriented to education, community support, advocacy for the recognition by world governments and the law of the religious practice of Ifá-Òrìṣà and promotion of healthy development, study, research and religious unity of Ifá worldwide. To this end we hold On-Line meetings every Sunday with prominent Babalawos and Òrìṣà practitioners from the Afro-Cuban and the Yorùbá traditional branches of Ifá-Òrìṣà .
The objective of these topics is to delve into aspects that preserve our roots and those topics that can enrich our practice.
These question-and-answer sessions have to date already provided highly relevant concepts and criteria.
The Ifá-Òrìṣà Religious Council of Canada will begin to publish a summary of those aspects that can be public and that can generate consensus in our practice and inviting other religious leaders to comment and contribute and enrich the dialogue.
The Ifá-Òrìṣà Religious Council of Canada does not pretend to hold or promulgate the absolute truth in the religious practice of Ifá and Òrìṣà, but rather wants to put a grain of sand so that our practice evolves while preserving its identity, its proven effectiveness, and roots.
The Ifá-Òrìṣà Religious Council of Canada supports and conducts research in the modalities of practice of Afro-Cuban Lucumi, Yoruba Traditional Religion and Vodun-Fa traditions in accordance with our motto of: "AN OPEN MIND LEADS TO A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING"
